AssetPulse Completes RFID Pilot for Tracking Construction Equipment at New California Academy of Sciences Natural History Museum Construction Site in

San Jose, CA (PRWeb) March 27, 2007 -- AssetPulse, a Silicon Valley startup focused on delivering complete customizable RFID-enabled asset tracking solutions announced the successful completion of the first phase of its deployment to keep track of rented construction equipment at remote job sites. Assetpulse's solution packaged its RFID-enabled AssetGather software for keeping track of assets along with Active RFID tag and reader technology from RF-Code to keep track of various parts including those belonging to a 150 foot tall tower crane erected at the construction site for the New California Academy of Sciences Natural History Museum in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. The project was commissioned by Stafford Tower Cranes as part of an effort to keep better track of its rental equipment that is distributed at various job sites across the country. High value construction equipment - such as tower cranes, is shipped and assembled from many smaller parts that can easily be misplaced and lost between jobs.

"We are excited about the capabilities of the asset tracking solution that Assetpulse has put together," said Patrick Stafford, President of Stafford Cranes. "The ability of the AssetGather RFID-based tracking system to accurately inventory and monitor rental equipment and parts as they move across job sites will be a key competitive advantage for us."

The web-based AssetGather software provides up-to-date asset and inventory reports in any web browser by integrating with a range of automatic identification technologies including passive, semi-passive and active RFID as well as bar codes. For this project AssetGather integrated RF Code's 433 MHz Mantis-series active RFID tags and readers.

"This project posed many interesting challenges given the open environment and the metallic nature of the equipment being tagged in a construction setting," said Vijay Sarathy, co-founder and VP of Marketing at AssetPulse. "Besides demonstrating the viability of Active RFID technology under such conditions, we have also demonstrated our ability to rapidly deploy a seamlessly integrated RFID-enabled asset tracking solution using our AssetGather software to deliver tangible business value to customers."

"This project is indicative of the increasing demand we see for reliable, robust real-time asset tracking solutions," said Mitch Medford, CEO of RF Code. "We are delighted to be working with partners such as AssetPulse that are leveraging our proven RFID platform of Mantis active RFID tags and readers, to help satisfy the customer needs for critical asset tracking solutions."

AssetPulse's offering - AssetGather, will be on display at RFID World 2007, being held at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Dallas, TX between March 26 and March 28, 2007 in the AssetPulse Booth # 1326.
