Barcoding Inc. Unveils UID Compliance Kit

Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) July 26, 2007 -- Baltimore based Barcoding Inc. has released a UID kit that will allow companies to comply with DoD mandates as well as investigate the technology for future use in their own supply chain.

The UID mandate has set requirements for all property and items owned by the DoD or in contract with the DoD to be identified with a unique serialized identification number. This identification number is required to meet Mil-Std standards.

UID pertains to all government property in the possession of contractors which is to be delivered to the DoD. Given that it is necessary for suppliers who deliver to the DoD to be UID Compliant, Barcoding's available kit is able to make these transitions painless and trouble-free.

"The UID Mandate creates many challenges for defense contractors beyond simply marking parts," said Jay Steinmetz, CEO of Barcoding Inc. "With our compliance kits, the ability to continue to sell the Department of Defense is an incremental process change rather than an entirely new challenge."

Currently there are three main reasons why companies are purchasing UID technology: they are complying with customer mandates, they are improving their tracking of items, and they are instituting a mutual solution for communication between contractors and the DoD. Barcoding Inc. has developed a UID Compliance Kit that can address all of these reasons. The kit is comprised of the necessary software, printers, and labels.

What is in the kit?

Software

Barcoding integrates Seagull Scientific's BarTender software to include UID processing into all aspects of shipping workflow, providing a simple and seamless solution. The WAWF and labeling software supports UID readers as well as data imports from UID Management and business systems.

Printer

Depending upon the need for simple Barcode printing or more advanced RFID integration will determine the printer, Barcoding has kits using the Zebra S4M for barcode printing compliance and the Zebra R-110 for RFID encoding.

Labels

Barcoding's UID kit includes labels available for transferring products in average conditions and unproblematic environments.
