Colorado RFID Alliance Announces October 8, 2008 RFID Expo

Denver, CO (PRWEB) September 18, 2008 -- The Colorado RFID Alliance (CORFIDA) today announced the final agenda for the 2008 Colorado RFID Expo to be held from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm on October 8, 2008 at the Colorado Convention Center's Korbel Ballroom.

The Colorado RFID Expo allows attendees to:

?    Watch live demos of RFID software and hardware solutions in the exhibit area

?    Listen to Dr. Bill Hardgrave, Executive Director of the University of Arkansas ITRI/RFID Research Center, in his keynote speech entitled "Operational Improvements Using RFID"

?    Join an educational breakout to hear RFID experts discuss the latest trends in RFID, the practical uses of RFID and how to get a return on your investment in the technology

?    Network with other RFID professionals and potential partners

Colorado remains one of the nation's hotspots for RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) activity, and the Expo provides a cross representation of those companies already achieving ROI with RFID technology, companies exploring RFID to improve their businesses and RFID technology suppliers. Retail, manufacturing, IT data centers, government agencies, healthcare and other industries are applying RFID technology to streamline operations, and track and manage inventory, equipment and assets for the benefits of reduced labor and human error.

According to industry analyst IDTechEx, in 2008 the value of the entire RFID market will be $5.29 billion, up from $4.93 billion in 2007, including tags, readers and software/services for RFID cards, labels, fobs and all other form factors. By 2018, the market value will be more than five times the size of the market compared to 2008, but the number of tags supplied will be more than 300 times that of 2008, driven by the development of lower cost tags and installed infrastructure which will enable high volumes of articles to be tagged.

"Colorado plays a prominent role in the renewed interest in RFID technology," said Gary Bresien, President of CORFIDA. "The Colorado RFID Expo brings together the technology providers, the companies who have implemented the technology and those who are interested in learning more or planning a trial or business case. It's a great opportunity for peer and partner networking, education and interactive demonstrations--all in one day."

Companies delivering educational sessions and providing product demonstrations during the Expo include American Barcode & RFID, Metalcraft, Alien Technology, RFID Inc., Fluensee, Ricoh-IBM, Infinite Power Solutions, Ubisense, Skyetek, Atmel, Zebra, Hein and Associates, Intelleflex, ID Edge, Sentegra, Phase IV Engineering, Results Oriented Inc., EM Microelectronic, Stratum Global and the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade.

This year's Colorado RFID Expo will be co-located and co-marketed with the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) annual conference October 5-8 in Denver.

For more information and to register for the Expo, visit http://www.corfida.org/. The event costs $25 for CORFIDA members and CSCMP attendees; $35 for non-members. All registrations include a one-year associate membership to the Colorado RFID Alliance.
